I continue to have this issue. I've tried several 'solutions', including uninstalling & reinstalling VMWare Tools, and the registry change.
When I start my VM, I get the 'Could not connect to all network drives' error message and below/attached is what I see in Computer.
My Setup...
Running under VMWare Workstation Pro 14
Guest: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 x64
Host: Windows 10 Pro x64
