Hi
I have a virtual machine that suddenly will not boot to the desktop. When I start the machine it goes through the startup and I can see the windows logo and a bar below it that says windows is starting but it is stuck at this level. I can not boot in safemode, still the same thing happens. I have only two options:
1) to reinstall the windows and or to repair the windows on the same server. I went to the boot sequence and set to start from the CD drive, but still it is not booting from the CD drive that has the windows CD. So do not know what to do.
2) Because of the inability to boot from the CD drive, I am thinking may be completely delete this server from the ESXi 4.0 and then do a clean installation. If I choose this option, how to do I do this safely and correctly so it is cleanly done?
Any suggestions for both options appreciated. I would like to try option 1 first and only when I can not do that, I want to go to option 2.
