I find it really useful looking at the logs using Firefox (don't use IE as it doesn't refresh real time). Simply open Firefox, browse to https://esxihostname/host - you will need to login as root and you will see all the log files in one place. Just click on the log file you are interested in and you can scroll through it, even using the find (Crtl+F) to highlight all of your search criteria. Whats really useful is that you can simply hit F5 to refresh the log, and copy past sectios as you wish.
