Add another processor to host ??

We have a site with a 710 host. During our discussions, someone mentioned adding another CPU to the host.

My question is, if I nstall an additional CPU, will I have to reinstall ESXi ?

we are running 5.0.0 76811

I was planning on adding ram as well, however, that has never been an issue in the past.
